Chocolate Chip Cookies

This chocolate chip recipe is the only way i make cookies. It tastes so good and it’s an easy clean-up; everything i love in baking recipes. Here’s how you do it:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 C Shortening or softened butter
- 1/2 C White sugar
- 1 C Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 C Flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 C chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 325° F
- In a large bowl, beat together shortening (or butter), white sugar and brown sugar until smooth with no clumps.
- Then, add the eggs one by one, mixing in between the two just until no egg is visible. Then add vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients (from step 4) to the wet ingredients and mix together until it forms a dough.
- Add the chocolate chips to the dough and mix.
- grease 2 large baking sheets and, with a small ice-cream scoop or large spoon, take a portion of the cookie dough to form into balls (about 2 tablespoons worth) and place onto said sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Place the baking sheets in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.
- Once they’re ready, take them out to cool for about 5-10 minutes and enjoy!
- Makes around 24 cookies.
