Chocolate Chip Cookies

This chocolate chip recipe is the only way i make cookies. It tastes so good and it’s an easy clean-up; everything i love in baking recipes. Here’s how you do it:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 C Shortening or softened butter
  • 1/2 C White sugar
  • 1 C Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 C Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 C chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F
  2. In a large bowl, beat together shortening (or butter), white sugar and brown sugar until smooth with no clumps.
  3. Then, add the eggs one by one, mixing in between the two just until no egg is visible. Then add vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients (from step 4) to the wet ingredients and mix together until it forms a dough.
  6. Add the chocolate chips to the dough and mix.
  7. grease 2 large baking sheets and, with a small ice-cream scoop or large spoon, take a portion of the cookie dough to form into balls (about 2 tablespoons worth) and place onto said sheet about 1 inch apart.
  8. Place the baking sheets in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.
  9. Once they’re ready, take them out to cool for about 5-10 minutes and enjoy!
  10. Makes around 24 cookies.
